What do you think about Gambit as a character?
Well, the big news is that he will be played by Channing Tatum 🙂
It all started like this:
Ok, on Tuesday, May 13, Lauren Shuler Donner (the X-Men producer) told Total Film, that the Gambit character in the X-Men movie that will follow this year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, will be played by Tatum.
Here is what she said about him:
“He’s a rogue….he’s a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau.”
And…
“He can handle the action. We all know that. He’s got a really good heart.”
But the question is…
Who is Gambit as a comic character?
Here is what wikipedia has to say about him:
“Gambit is a fictional character, a superhero who appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He has held membership in the team known as the X-Men.
A mutant, Gambit can mentally create, control and manipulate pure kinetic energy to his every whim and desire. He is also incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in card-throwing, hand-to-hand combat, and the use of a bō.
Few X-Men trusted Gambit, who was originally a professional thief, when he first joined the group. There was consistently a source of stress between him and his on-again, off-again love interest Rogue.”

As I read through the comments, I see one name comes up as a more preferred actor.
That name is Taylor Kitsch.
