Is Mortal Kombat 1 Cross Platform? Crossplay and Cross-Progression (2026)

Nick GuliNick Guli|

Partly. Checked on Oct 9, 2026.

Mortal Kombat 1 allows Krossplay and Kross-Progression on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). However, the Nintendo Switch version doesn’t support these features. To use Krossplay, you’ll need a WB Games Account. Unfortunately, Switch players can only connect with other Switch users.

Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay by platform

Platform Crossplay Notes
PlayStation 5 Yes Krossplay is an optional feature on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). It is off by default.
Xbox Series X|S Yes Plays with PlayStation 5 and PC players when Krossplay is enabled and a WB Games Account is linked.
PC (Steam) Yes Included in the official Krossplay platform list. One third-party report says PC players must pass an in-game performance check before entering the cross-platform pool. That detail has not been officially confirmed.
PC (Epic) Yes Included in the official Krossplay platform list alongside Steam.
Nintendo Switch No Krossplay and Kross-Progression are not available for the Nintendo Switch version. No plan to add them has been officially announced.
Nintendo Switch 2 Unconfirmed No native Switch 2 version has been confirmed. In 2025, players who already owned the game on Switch 1 could still play it on Switch 2. The eShop purchase option was blocked at that time. Current Switch 2 crossplay support has not been officially confirmed, and the Switch version's exclusion would presumably apply.

Does Mortal Kombat 1 have cross-progression?

Partly. Kross-Progression lets players access certain content and progress across all supported platforms. It covers PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through a linked WB Games Account. The Nintendo Switch version is excluded.

How to turn crossplay on or off in Mortal Kombat 1

  1. Link the game to a WB Games Account, which is required for Krossplay.
  2. From the main menu, open Settings.
  3. Select the Online tab.
  4. Turn on the Enable Krossplay option at the top. It is turned off by default.
