Is Dead by Daylight dead?
No. Dead by Daylight averages 46,494 concurrent players on Steam and the trend is fairly steady (down 15% on the previous 30 days).
Dead by Daylight is a busy game that has cooled off. After a strong summer, the player base has slipped back toward where it started in spring, and the trend now reads as stable at a lower level. The biggest swing came in June 2026, when the monthly average jumped 39% on the month before, reaching the highest peak we have recorded, 169,958 on Jun 25, 2026. Nothing in recent coverage lines up with that jump.
Since then the audience has eased down month by month, and the last 30 days sit 15% below the 30 days before. Even so, the community is large enough that queues should be quick at any hour. Lobbies are fullest around 19:00 UTC (3 pm ET) and thinnest around 08:00 UTC (4 am ET), so aim for the busier window if you want the fastest matches.
Best time to play Dead by Daylight
