Fortnite allows crossplay between PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile devices. To play, you’ll need an Epic Games account. Players on different platforms can team up and queue together. Plus, cross-progression is available through a linked Epic account, but keep in mind that V-Bucks purchased on Nintendo platforms won’t transfer.

Does Fortnite have cross-progression?
Yes. According to Epic Games, content a player buys and progress they make is available on every platform once the Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Switch or mobile account is linked to the same Epic account. V-Bucks are the exception, and V-Bucks bought on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 stay on Nintendo platforms. Separate Epic accounts cannot be merged, and each platform type can link to only one Epic account at a time.
How to turn crossplay on or off in Fortnite
- Open Fortnite on PlayStation or Xbox and select the gear icon in the lobby to open Settings.
- Go to Account and Privacy.
- Under Gameplay Privacy, find Allow Cross Platform Play.
- Set it to Yes to turn crossplay on, or No to turn it off.
- This setting is not offered on PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 or mobile, where crossplay stays on.

Is Fortnite cross platform?
Yes. Fortnite supports crossplay across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and mobile. Players need an Epic Games account, and mixed-platform parties can queue together. Cross-progression also works through a linked Epic account, with the exception of V-Bucks bought on Nintendo platforms.
Can PC and PS5 players play Fortnite together?
Yes. PC and PlayStation 5 players can join the same parties and matches once both sign in with an Epic Games account. Mixed parties are matched using Epic's platform hierarchy, which follows the strongest platform in the party.
Can Xbox and PlayStation players play together in Fortnite?
Yes. Players on Xbox and PlayStation can party up through Epic friends. Both must have crossplay enabled, and Xbox privacy settings can block it. Only Epic friends work across every platform.
Does Fortnite crossplay work on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2?
Yes. Both Switch versions play with all other platforms. Crossplay on Nintendo hardware is always on and has no toggle.
Does Fortnite have cross-progression?
Yes. Skins, Battle Pass progress and other purchases follow the linked Epic account across platforms. V-Bucks bought on Nintendo platforms do not transfer, and two Epic accounts cannot be merged.
Can Fortnite crossplay be turned off?
Only on PlayStation and Xbox, through Settings, Account and Privacy, Gameplay Privacy. It cannot be turned off on PC, Switch, Switch 2 or mobile.
