Born in 1997 in Los Angeles, Johnathan grew up in Mid-City in central LA. He attended multiple elementary schools. Then, he moved with his mother to Santa Clarita Valley. Yet, he settled in Oakland with his father.

There, he attended Arleta High School. He joined the marching band playing alto saxophone. But his biggest success during high school came on the sports field.
