Slay the Spire 2 Patch Notes: Latest Update (Aug 14, 2026)

The latest Slay the Spire 2 update is “Beta Patch Notes – v0.111.0”, shared on Steam on Aug 14, 2026. This beta patch makes significant changes to Ironclad’s Expect a Fight and Defect’s Hyperbeam. It also adjusts various cards, enemies, and relics throughout the game. Additionally, the update introduces Indonesian localization with English fallback and low HP idle animations for all playable characters. There won’t be a patch on the 27th, and the next update might take longer as the team shifts focus to larger content.

What changed in v0.111.0

Balance changes

  • Rend now costs 1 and deals 10(12) base damage instead of 15(18).
  • Salvo and Splash swap rarities: Splash is now Rare and Salvo is now Uncommon.
  • Axebot gains buffs, including Hammer Uppercut damage of 14(18) and +10 Max HP each time it respawns.
  • Mechaknight now also deals 8(12) damage on its Flamethrower turn.
  • Regent's Guiding Star now draws cards next turn and costs 1 Star. Regalite Block gain drops from 6 to 4.
  • Blade of Ink's Inky enchantment no longer adds damage. Mirage now Exhausts and loses Exhaust on upgrade.
  • Necrobinder's Time's Up no longer has Exhaust. Shroud Block gain rises from 2(3) to 3(4).
  • Defect's Thunder damage rises to 8(11). Null and Synchronize are both nerfed.

Card reworks

  • Expect a Fight is now a Cost 3 Skill: Gain 15(16) Block, plus 5(8) additional Block for each Strength.
  • Hyperbeam now deals 24(30) damage to ALL enemies and loses 3 Focus this turn only.
  • Forgotten Ritual no longer requires a card to be Exhausted to gain Energy.
  • Rampage base damage rises from 9 to 10, and scaling damage changes from 5(9) to 5(10).

Ancients

  • Tezcatara's Brightest Flame max HP loss increases from 1 to 2.
  • Nonupeipe's Beautiful Bracelet now Enchants 4 random cards instead of letting you select them.

Quality of life, art and performance

  • Indonesian localization is added with English fallback.
  • Low HP idle animations are added for all playable characters.
  • Portrait art is added for Hibernate, One For All, Cacophony, Underworld and Midnight.
  • Cards with on-end-turn effects play faster when there are many of them.
  • Players can confirm card selection with E again.
  • Dexterity Potion is changed back to green.
  • Stuttering is reduced when text first appears in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai and Russian.

Bug fixes

  • Fixes a multiplayer crash when selecting a relic at a treasure room.
  • Fixes a multiplayer crash when killing the last enemy in an encounter with The Ball card.
  • Cacophony no longer triggers a second time if its first trigger causes another card to be drawn.
  • Fixes badges earned at the end of a run being lost in some cases.
  • Fixes input being blocked after clearing map drawings in map drawing mode.
  • Fixes errors when combat ends during card movement or shuffling.
  • Fixes Defect's power-up animation freezing when interrupted while playing Echo Form.
  • Unreadying in a loaded Daily Run lobby no longer leaves you readied up.
