New World Aeternum Patch Notes: Latest Update (Nov 4, 2025)

Nick GuliNick Guli|

The latest update for New World Aeternum is titled “Daggers Release Notes”, which was shared on Steam on November 4, 2025. This update introduces daggers, a new weapon featuring S tier Dexterity scaling and E tier Strength scaling. Keep in mind that the weapon isn’t fully polished yet, so you might encounter some bugs and issues. Hitting enemies generates Combo Points, which some abilities can use for added effects. You can find Perk Charms in the shops located in Reekwater and Cutlass.

What changed in the latest New World Aeternum update

New weapon: Daggers

  • Daggers have S tier Dexterity scaling and E Tier Strength scaling.
  • Each hit builds Combo Points, which can be consumed to activate abilities.
  • Consuming additional points enhances each ability in a variety of ways.
  • Six abilities: Frenzied Slashes, Double Neck Stab, Thrusting Slice, Ambush, Crippling Sling, and Stealth.
  • Perk Charms are available through Reekwater and Cutlass shops.
  • The mastery trees are Blades and Stealth.

Blades tree

  • Double Neck Stab: leap and stab the target for strong damage. Bonus damage per combo point consumed; guaranteed crit at full points.
  • Frenzied Slashes: 7 rapid slashes, alternating main hand and off hand. At full combo points, main hand attacks inflict Scoundrel's Venom.
  • Thrusting Slice: dash forward, damaging all targets you pass. With enough combo points, repeat the dash up to 3 times with upgrades.
  • Blades Ultimate: crits inflict a stack of Scoundrel's Venom, and venom-inflicting hits heal for 2.5% of base health.

Stealth tree

  • Stealth: harder for enemies to see you. Attacking from stealth surprises them, and upgrades add bonus damage against surprised enemies.
  • Stealth does not consume combo points.
  • Ambush: low double slash for strong damage. Roots from stealth or backstab, or at full combo points regardless.
  • Crippling Sling: throw a dagger. From stealth or backstab, it slows enemies. Can repeat up to 3 times with upgrades.
  • Stealth Ultimate: 20% increased damage to targets inflicted with Dagger's roots or slows.
  • Stealth Ultimate: for 5s after using an ability, gain 20% haste for 5s when facing an enemy.
