Subnautica 2 allows crossplay between PC and Xbox for up to four players in online co-op. This feature has been available since the Early Access launch on May 14, 2026. Currently, the game isn’t on any other platforms. You can use manual cloud save codes for cross-progression, but there’s no automatic account syncing.

Does Subnautica 2 have cross-progression?
Partly. According to the official Subnautica support page, saves can be shared across platforms manually. Players choose Save to Cloud on a save in the main menu, then enter the generated code in Import Save File on the other platform. Automatic account-based syncing has not been officially confirmed. Some third-party sites claim automatic sync, while others say Steam and Xbox saves do not transfer. Those claims conflict with the official page and have not been officially confirmed.
