Drakengard 3 Reviewed By Playstation Dengeki: 100/90/85/95

Drakengard 3 is finally going to be released in Japan later this week on Playstation 3. Two reviews have surfaced ahead of the game’s release, published on Playstation Dengeki and Famitsu.

Playstation Dengeki has awarded the game a 100/90/85/95. According to the reviewers the game’s scenario is the best ever included in a game of the series, bringing both laughter and tears. The story isn’t a simple one either, as the magazine hints at some shocking twists.

The game is also quite easy to pick up and play. At the same time it has a way more satisfying battle system than the previous games of the series, also thanks to the weapon switch system.

Fans fearing that the game was going to be short will be happy to know that it takes around 40 hours to complete it without finding all the secrets and completing side objectives. Average length of each mission is higher that the first two Drakengard games.

The soundtrack, as expected, is a true gem. The review doesn’t elaborate further on the matter but we can expect it to be just as good as it was in Nier, if not even better.

The second review for the game has been published by Famitsu, which awarded the game a 9/9/8/8. Actual details on the review contents are scarce at the moment. We’ll keep you updated as soon as they emerge.

Drakengard 3 will launch on December 19th in Japan. The game will be released in North America and Europe during 2014 as a Playstation 3 exclusive game.
