Minecraft PS3 Version Ready For Testing, Release Coming Soon

The Playstation 3 version of the highly successful Minecraft is now ready for testing, as revealed this morning by 4JStudios, the team behind the console version of the Mojang title.

The confirmation has been made with a recent Tweet posted on the team’s Official Twitter:

We’re hard at work getting Minecraft: PS3 Edition ready for testing just now.

4JStudios has also revealed that work on the other consoles’ versions will begin at a later time. Title Update 14 will also be released in the future.

Minecraft is now only available on Xbox 360. This version of the game has been quite successful, managing to sell nicely both on Xbox Live and at retail. The boxed release of the game has entered the UK Sales Charts last summer and has always appeared in the first 20 positions since then. Quite a good result, considering that the game was always up against big AAA titles.

Minecraft will be released on a yet to be revealed date on PS3 and PS4. 4JStudios has already confirmed that the game will not be available on the PS4 launch. No matter when the game is going to be released, we’re sure it will be just as successful as the Xbox 360 version of the game, if not even more.
