Gran Turismo 6 will be released on Playstation 3 before the end of the year but it looks like the game may be the first cross-generation Gran Turismo entry of the series, according to what Yamauchi has told the Official Playstation Magazine UK this morning.
The Polyphony Digital president has revealed that the company has a Ps4 version in mind but at the present cannot share more details on the matter.
In the same interview, Yamauchi has revealed more details on the game, stating that Gran Turismo 6 will feature over 1200 cars, all with a more realistic handling than ever. Yamauchi explained how the team gathered all the data for the game’s cars:
“Driving a racing car, you control it with a lot of different sensors mounted on the car. We’re able to collect a lot of different data: how the ride height of the car changes when you’re driving, how that changes in relation to the aerodynamics, and how your steering balance changes.
“Two weeks ago I drove the Nissan GTR GT3 on the Nürburgring, and we collected the data from that car as well – and when we returned to Japan we fed all this data into Gran Turismo. I drove the same car and track in Gran Turismo, and started to realise what was different.”
Gran Turismo 6 will launch before the end of the year on Ps3. The game is now available for pre-order, coming with a few exclusive bonuses and extra cars.
