The third beta phase for the upcoming MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will begin in a few hours: players without a code to enter the beta can still try to get access it by going here. The third phase will last until next Monday. The third beta phase also marks the beginning of the beta testing phase for the Ps3 version of the game, releasing at the same time as the Pc one.
The third phase will not be the final testing phase for A Realm Reborn: a few weeks ago Square Enix revealed that a fourth phase would be taking place before the game’s release and that more details would be coming after the third phase ends.
A Realm Reborn will correct all the issues that plagued the original game while adding a lot of new gameplay elements as well as new areas to explore: the game’s plot begins after the ending of the original Final Fantasy XIV where the world was scarred by a cataclysmic event. This cataclysmic event is definitely a good plot device to introduce new areas as well as changes to the older cities and locations of the game.
A Realm Reborn will be launching on August 27th on Ps3 and Pc. No release date was given for the Ps4 version; no trailers or screens for the next-gen version have been revealed as well. We can expect more details on the next generation version of A Realm Reborn in the near future.
