Atlus parent company, Index Corporation, has finally registered a domain for Persona 5, a new entry of the highly successful Persona series, a spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei games. The domain registration can be seen by going here and it’s quite recent, having been done only a few days ago.
It’s about time we hear about a new Persona game: Persona 4 has been originally released in 2009 and all the games of the series released since then have been enhanced ports of older titles. Persona 4 Arena, the fighting game based on the series, developed by Arc System Works, has moved the story forward a bit, hinting at some possible future development: let’s hope the new Persona game will shed some light on some of these mysteries.
Index Corporation isn’t doing too well lately but Atlus has confirmed that this situation won’t influence the release of future games: the domain registration may have been a move from Index to show investors that they will not be fleeing from their current troubles.
When we will be going to finally see something of the game? There’s a good chance that something may be shown during this year’s Tokyo Game Show, happening in a couple of months in Japan.
