If you’re a fan of strategic role-playing games, you surely know about the Advance Wars series, developed by Intelligent Systems. The team has recently worked on another great strategic role-playing game released on 3DS, Fire Emblem: Awakening , and it looks like they’re not done with the Advance Wars series.
Masahiro Higuchi, Fire Emblem: Awakening project manager, has been recently interviewed about the latest entry of the Fire Emblem series: the full interview is available on the game’s official site. When talking about how Intelligent Systems works, he clearly stated that, whether they’re talking about Fire Emblem or Advance Wars, they never want put an end to any series they’re involved with. They’re always in to develop some new games that can provide a good amount of fun to players: given the chance, they would gladly develop a new Advance Wars game. This not really a confirmation but at least there’s a chance of another AW game coming in the future.
The latest game of the series has been released back in 2008 called Advance Wars: Dark Conflict. Judging from this interview, there may be a chance for the series to come back in an all new 3DS entry of the series. Given the quality of Fire Emblem: Awakening we could be in for something really good.
