This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, but Ubisoft has finally come out and confirmed that a new Assassin’s Creed game will be coming out every year. Just how Activision continues to push out a new Call of Duty every year, Ubisoft will be doing the same, and it’s all because of one thing, money. Assassin’s Creed III was the best game out of the series, and it will most likely continue to improve with every new game in the franchise.
“No, the players will tell us. Right now there are more and more coming into the franchise, so I don’t see that day,” Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat told Eurogamer. “The players will tell us. Right now there are more and more coming into the franchise, so I don’t see that day. It’s our breakthrough. When you have quality content, the frequency of coming out with the game is not an issue at all. On the contrary, people expect more and more of that content. So it’s natural to be able to provide that content. The gamers are happy and it’s our job to make them happy.”
Ubisoft does make some good points, seeing how Assassin’s Creed has a large user base, it would be foolish not to capitalize on the opportunity.
