Games like Journey and The Unfinished Swan have proven that there’s a market for unique digital download only titles. Both games have been incredibly successful and sold even beyond expectations. Ken Suzuta, producer for both games, hopes that his next PSN-Only title, Rain will be as successful as the two exclusive titles that came before it.
Speaking with Computer And Videogames, Suzuta san stated that the success of The Unfinished Swan and Journey is truly inspiring but daunting at the same time: the team wants to make Rain as successful as the other titles and their feeling some kind of pressure. At the same time this pressure is really motivating them to deliver a really great and inspired game.
Rain is a product of Playstation C.A.M.P where amateur game designers submit ideas which are later built by SCE Japan. Rain was originally revealed last year and not much has been said since then. If Journey and The Unfinished Swan are any indication, we may be in for something truly special, as anyone who played any of these two titles surely knows.
Rain will be released on PSN later this year: a precise release date is currently unavailable.
