As we reported yesterday, Hideo Kojima is going to give a technical presentation on the FOX Engine at the next Game Developers Conference on March 27: the game designer is also going to make an announcement regarding the Metal Gear Solid series during the presentation. With Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes using the FOX engine, we can expect some news regarding the game as well as some surprise announcements. Some are speculating that the mysterious Phantom Pain, developed by the even more mysterious Swedish team Moby Dick Games, will finally be revealed as a Metal Gear Solid game.

Kojima’s presentation will be on from 11:00 AM to 12:30 OM PST and it’s been confirmed that it will be streamed live. The confirmation came from Ken Imaizumi of Kojima Productions. More details are currently unavailable: the streaming will be taken care of by the GDC organization and it’s unclear in what media form the streaming will be broadcast.

With this surprise announcement coming, it’s no wonder that there’s so much anticipation behind this presentation: the available footage of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes looks really incredible. The game will change the Metal Gear formula greatly while keeping stealth as the main gameplay focus. It’s still unknown if the game is going to be released on current or next-gen consoles.
