One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2, the hack and slash game based on the anime and manga series One Piece will hit Japan in just a few weeks: with the game’s official release date set on March 22, preorders of the game have been incredibly high, reaching over 500.000 total preorders counting both versions, Ps3 and PsVita.

To celebrate such an achievement, Namco Bandai has confirmed today that the game will be receiving a playable demo this Thurdsday, when the Playstation Store updates in Japan. The demo will feature the Skypeia stage and players will be able to try out Monkey D. Luffy and Trafalgar Law as characters: Luffy’s moveset has been greatly expanded and Trafalgar Law is a completely new character. Players will also be able to try out the offline co op mode: the full game will offer both offline and online co op mode.

There’s still no news on a possible Western demo release: if the demo gets released, it’s probably gonna be closer to release date since the Playstation 3 version, the only one getting released in the West, will be available this summer. Players who want to try the game now can easily set up a Japanese PSN account and download away!
