In the fighting games world, it’s not unusual for a developer to release multiple versions of the same game with new updates, balancing tweaks and extra characters: Capcom is actually considered an offender in this regard with so many upgraded versions released for its Street Fighter series, among other games, but they’re not the only ones.

2D Beat’em Up enthusiasts surely know about the Guilty Gear series: the second game of the series has received so many updates that it’s really hard to track them all and most changes are also quite subtle and can only be found by experts. Still, the game has been quite successfull and the latest revision will be available in the west in the near future.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R is getting a PsVita release in Japan and ArcSys has also confirmed that the game will be available in the West very soon. There’s not even hint as for when the game is going to get released: ArcSys states that the decision came after the nice performance of the BlazBlue PsVita release, hoping that Guilty Gear will do just as good if not even better.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus is also available on the Japanese PSN for Ps3.
