Ubisoft already confirmed that we will see the release of an Assassin’s Creed game later this year. But thanks to a poster found on Kotaku, we now know the next Assassin’s Creed game will likely be called Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Not only that, but it looks like the next game will focus on pirates as the poster in the picture shows the next Assassin’s Creed protagonist hanging out with a group of pirates.
We do know that the next Assassin’s Creed game will feature a new hero, but that is about the extent of our confirmed knowledge about the game. Ubisoft has at this moment not commented on the leaked images, and I would not expect them to until the game is officially announced.
However, we may not have to wait long, as the person who broke this story to Kotaku said that the posters will be put up on store walls Monday, March 4.
After the lukewarm reception Assassin’s Creed III got from fans and reviewers I thought it might be time for Ubisoft to put the franchise on hold for a little while. However, Ubisoft disagrees and it looks like this year the franchise will be moving towards piracy. What do you think, does the franchise need to be put on hold for a year to re-tool?
