When the Wii U was officially revealed, after the half-reveal of E3 2011, many gamers were surprised by the exclusivity deal with Platinum Games, which was going to bring some exclusive games to the new Nintendo Console. Nintendo wanted to move beyond the family friendly only concept which was used for the Wii and make the Wii U a console which all kinds of gamers might enjoy.
While Bayonetta has been highly praised by gamers for its great action gameplay, the game hasn’t been too successful on the market, at least not enough to bring Platinum Games to develop a sequel: Hidaki Kamiya, Platinum’s president and founder, has stated countless times that if it wasn’t for Nintendo, the game wouldn’t have been developed.
We still don’t know much about the game except for some small footage, but we know that Kamiya is really excited about this project, so much that the posted on Twitter that he would definitely love to see a Bayonetta 2 Wii U Bundle, to push both the game and the console on the market. In his enthusiastic tweet he makes it pretty clear that he would not have anything against it and would fully support such a bundle.
With the first bundles already being released, there’s a high chance that a Bayonetta 2 Bundle may hit the market together with the game. Bayonetta 2 will be released during 2013 exclusively on Wii U.
