We are now living in the wake of Wednesday’s huge PlayStation 4 unveiling from Sony in New York City, in a move that has apparently taken Microsoft off guard. The bold unveiling by Sony didn’t feel quite complete, but more like a strategic move on their part to get the PS4 in the public consciousness and start moving forward with the launch and they have done just that. We have still yet to hear from Microsoft about their own next generation launch yet, but according to a few surfacing reports, it looks like the time might be very soon for the big Xbox 720 reveal.
Reports from CVG as well as other sites are claiming that Microsoft was taken off guard by this reveal from Sony and that they plan to fire back in April with a big Xbox 720 unveiling event of their own. It will mark two months after Sony’s announcement with Microsoft lagging behind no matter what, but it looks like we will see some intense competition from all three of the industry heavies in the near future.
