It has been a while since we have heard anything from Just Cause 2 developer Avalanche Studios, but today their co-founder Christofer Sundberg may have just teased Just Cause 3. Sundberg tweeted out a blurry image of what appears to be a man on a motorcycle kicking another man, which sounds like Just Cause (or Indiana Jones). Also if you look at the characters left hand, he appears to be holding something, possibly the grappling hook from Just Cause 2. It would make sense considering the image looks like the character has just hijacked the motorcycle.
However, you can see in the background that it is a desert setting, which would be a departure from the tropical settings of Just Cause 1 and 2. Although Avalanche Studios could have taken a note from some other open world developers and thrown in a world big enough that it includes multiple terrains.
Avalanche Studios has confirmed in the past that they are working on a next gen title code named “Project Mamba”, scheduled for release in 2014. But that is the extent of what we know for certain Avalanche Studios is currently working on. Hopefully we will get a full announcement when these next generation consoles are finally shown off.
