Well, who says that awards season is only for the major media entities anymore? As gaming continues to grow as a medium, people wanting to recognize great achievements in gaming grows as well. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) have been giving out awards for excellence in media for a very long time now and have been giving out awards for excellence in the videogame industry since 1998. Of course 2013 will be no different and if you’ve been following other awards shows for the videogame industry you probably will be able to predict how these awards are shaping up.

That means that Journey is leading the pack when it comes to nominations with Telltale’s The Walking Dead hot on its heels. In fact, though, there are 53 games nominated across 17 categories this year, which is a wide array of games. On top of Journey and The Walking Dead we also see Far Cry 3, Dear Esther trailing behind closely for nominations, followed closely by Halo 4, Assassin’s Creed III, Borderlands 2 and The Room.
