There are rumors floating around that Bungie will finally unveil their long rumored project Destiny in a matter of weeks. However, if they do show off Destiny in the near future, it may be the last time you see the game for a while. As Activision’s earnings report yesterday point to Destiny being a 2014 release instead of 2013.

Destiny was not included in yesterday’s 2013 Activision earnings report, which if the game was going to be released this year it would have been included in the report. Here is exactly what the report said about Destiny:

“…several new properties with long-term potential that are not factored into our 2013 financial outlook, including Activision Publishing’s new Bungie universe, Call of Duty Online for China and the new Blizzard MMO.”

With this information, I think it is safe to assume that we will not likely see Destiny release this year; 2014 is looking like a much more possible release window for Bungie’s next big project. The only thing we know about the game is that it is supposedly a MMO styled co-op shooter, set in an open world; however none of that has been officially confirmed. Hopefully we will know more once Bungie actually shows the game off, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like we will be able to play the game this year.
