Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen was announced last year for both Ps3 and Xbox 360. The first major expansion for the somewhat successful Capcom role playing game, bringing some new additions and some extra options for the main game, will be released this April worldwide. In Japan the expansion had been confirmed to be coming together with the main game and while Dark Arisen had also been confirmed for the west, it was yet unclear if it was just going to be released digitally or if it would hit retail store shelves as well.

Today Capcom has finally confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will be released in both digital and physical forms, with the retail version coming with the full game included. Arisen adds new areas, enemies, dungeons, weapons, skills and customization options. For players who want to play the main game again, there will be a new Hard difficulty setting which will challenge their mastery of the game.

If you already have Dragon’s Dogma, some nice bonuses await you: you’ll be getting 100.000 rifts crystals, unlimited ferrystones and the Gransys Armor Pack with six new costumes.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will launch on April 23 in North America and April 26 in Europe on both Ps3 and Xbox 360.
