The latest entry of the Splinter Cell series, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, still has to hit the market, coming in August after some delays, but Ubisoft is probably thinking ahead, getting ready for the development of a new Splinter Cell game.

As things stand this must be considered as a rumor since there hasn’t been any official word on the matter: Ubisoft has registered earlier this weak some domains which are obviously related to the Splinter Cell series: SplinterCellShadownet.com and SplinterCell-Shadownet.com.

Veterans of the series probably know what the Shadownet name means: it’s a special team of spies which can be played in the multipler modes for Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory. Is Ubisoft planning a spin off of the series starring this highly trained spies?

We probably won’t know anything until Blacklist gets release but if you’re a Splinter Cell fan you can start the speculation right away. Please also note that a domain registration doesn’t mean much by itself without official words and it could just be Ubisoft trying to protect its own properties and trademarked names.

The latest entry of the Splinter Cell series, Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be launching this summer on Pc, Ps3 and Xbox 360, coming with a regular and special edition, featuring some extra goodies.
