A development video of Bayonetta 2 was revealed during the Nintendo Direct broadcast, showing off our first glance at the footage of the game.
The video shows many alpha builds and concept art of locations and character models of the game, with the developers stating “there are lots of different locations this time. But the trick is figuring out how to get locations that weren’t in Bayonetta to fit that world.”
It is also said that “the scale of the game is completely different this time, so it feels like you are fighting the last boss from the very beginning. I think people are going to have lots of fun with it.” The team are very determined to “maximise the Wii U’s potential”, while also upping the ante.
Looks like Platinum Games are very confident in their ambitious sequel. The video ends with the sassy Umbra Witch doing some teasing of her own, with her seductive line “you want to touch me?”. To the undoubtedly delight of many gamers, it looks like that offer can become a reality with the GamePad screen!
Bayonetta 2 is set to release exclusively on the Wii U in 2013.
