The Japanese developer Level 5 has quickly risen to be one of the most appreciated Japanese developer thanks to an unique style which all their titles have, despite being different genres: almost everyone in the west knows about the Professor Layton series and now, with the impending release of the role playing game Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch, even more players are starting to appreciate the developer’s unique style: cell shaded graphics coupled with many interesting gameplay ideas, making the game as deep as a player whishes.

Level 5 has also been supporting Nintendo consoles for quite some time, despite many of their games are also on Sony’s platforms: the Inazuma Eleven series sports an interesting hybrid of role playing game and soccer game which also spawned an animation series, becoming one of the best selling franchises on the old Nintendo DS.

Revealed back in October, a new japanese role playing game will hit the 3DS in the near future: called Yokai Watch, Ghost Watch for all those who don’t know japanese, will try to repeat the same positive experience of Inazuma Eleven. The game is coming together with an animation series in Japan, hoping to tap into the Pokemon fanbase: while not too many details are available for the game, we know that there’s going to be monster, in this case ghost, catching, growing, management and so on. It’s not a surprise if you have been keeping an eye on Ni No Kuni, since the game also features a similar system. A new trailer for the game has been made available and you can watch it by going here.

Ghost Watch still hasn’t been dated: it should be coming during 2013 in Japan. No news on a possible western release.
