It seems THQ (Homefront, Darksiders) won’t have a booth at this year’s E3. Now why is this big deal? Well, E3 is easily the biggest videogame show of the year in the world; and naturally, most, if not all, publishers set up loud, glamorous booths to attract people from the show floor – thus, giving their products more exposure.

While this news might be sad to hear, it’s not all that surprising; especially since THQ’s problems financially has been well documented since the start of this year. In saying this, that doesn’t mean the publisher won’t have a presence of any sort at the show floor. Yes, they won’t have a booth there but their games will still be playable on the show.

The publisher had this to say regarding their “limited attendance” at this year’s E3.

“We’re not producing a booth, but we will be participating in E3. We will be showing games to the E3 judges at their event coming up, and we’ll be hosting a press and business center at the show for meetings (as well as participating with first party activities),

When we needed to make the decision on the booth (many months ago) we were in a MUCH different place than today. But, we will be there to support our portfolio and the show itself.”

Booth or not, let’s hope that THQ will still bring in the big guns when it comes to game announcements at the show.
