During this generation, Platinum Games has shown how a newly founded studio can offer some great games without having to stick to a single formula: founded by Hideki Kamiya, former Capocom’s employee and creator of the Devil May Cry series, and made up of other former Capcom’s employees who contributed in developing other successful Capcom titles like Okami and the Viewtiful Joe series, Platinum Games has released some excellent titles like Madworld on Wii, Bayonetta and Vanquish on Ps3 and Xbox 360. 2013 is going to be quite a busy year for the company, hard at work on some triple AAA titles like Bayonetta 2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Platinum Games has released today a new showreel which can be viewed here showcasing some of the games coming in 2013: the already mentioned Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance set for a February release on Ps3 and Xvox 360, the now available Anarchy Reigns and another promising Wii U exclusive called The Wonderful 101.

This last game is probably the most interesting of the bunch: the project is headed by Platinum Games’ founder Hideki Kamiya and it revolves around controlling a large group of super heroes fighting an alien invasion. The game will make extensive use of the Wii U’s Gamepad to give the heroes new forms.

No news or footage for Bayonetta 2 in the showreel: the game is developed with Nintendo support and it will be a Wii U exclusive, unlike the first entry of the series.
