Irrational Games and Ken Levine have revealed that BioShock composer Garry Schyman will return to compose the soundtrack for BioShock Infinite. Levine made this announcement during an “Ask Me Anything” debate on Reddit; Schyman composed the music for both BioShock and BioShock 2. However, don’t expect the soundtrack for BioShock Infinite to mirror the sound tracks for BioShock 1 and 2.
According to Levine, the soundtrack for BioShock Infinite will be much different than the first two games. Supposedly the soundtrack will be guided by the same artistic principles behind the first two games but will be fit to the atmosphere of BioShock Infinite.
From what I remember a lot of what made BioShock’s soundtrack so great wasn’t the music but the quiet. You could hear the creaking sound of the glass from the water pressure or the sudden quiet being broken by a Big Daddy. So I will be very interested to hear what type of backdrop music and sound Schyman has in store for BioShock Infinite.
