If you are like me, an integral part of your life as a gamer revolves around a yearly FPS game to help unwind with some fast-paced online gaming after a frustrating day of work. Battlefield 3 was without a doubt that game for me last year, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 feels disjointed, old and just not fun. This year I had high hopes for Medal of Honor: Warfighter, but after playing the beta for a while and then seeing some of the reviews, I’ve decided to scrap any plans to pick up Warfighter and here I am with Battlefield 3 still and everything still feels quite alright.
Luckily for me and other people who find themselves in the same shoes, DICE is looking to reward your loyalty with five big days of double XP this week. That means any mode or map online you can play and get double XP, which really is quite awesome. If you still haven’t leveled up a certain class and unlocked certain weapons or attachments, this could be your time to finally do that.
The Double XP event begins on October 31st, also known to most as Halloween. So if you have already gotten your Halloween parties out of the way over the weekend and are like me and live in a neighborhood where no one bothers to take their kids trick-or-treating you’ll have a big incentive to pop in Battlefield 3 and five days to earn that sweet, sweet Double XP. I mean, Halo 4 isn’t out for another week, anyway, right? So you really have no excuse to dust off that copy of Battlefield 3, or if you haven’t stopped playing, you’ll have an excuse to make everyone who is out of practice feel really bad about taking time away from it.
