Since the launch of Disney Infinity 2.0, Disney Interactive has released a number of new Disney Animation characters for the game. These characters have ranged from the heroes of the Academy Award nominated film Big Hero 6 (with Baymax and Hiro Hamada) to Princess Merida from Pixar’s Brave to Donald Duck. Many characters that I want to see make an appearance for the game are still missing. Here is a list of characters I would like to see next in figure form.
5. Genie (Aladdin)
Currently, the game has Aladdin and Jasmine; but where is the Genie of the lamp? Aladdin and Princess Jasmine were fine characters, but the true show stealer of Aladdin was, in fact, Genie. Therefore, Genie should be one of the next characters to get a figurine appearance for the game. It would be also be a nice tribute to the late actor, Robin Williams, who gave voice to the character.
4. Kermit the Frog (The Muppets)
Disney currently owns The Muppets. So, what does that mean? They do not have to license the character to make a figurine for Kermit the Frog and insert him in the game. Obviously, the risk of bringing in a Muppet character, could open the floodgates to fans wanting a ton more Muppet figurines for Disney Infinity. The game should start small and at least make Kermit. After that, gauge the interest and go from there. The face of the Muppets, in Kermit, belongs in the game. The game is called Disney Infinity, so the possibilities should be infinite.
3. Goofy
The big three of Disney are Mickey, Donald and…Goofy. Both Mickey and Donald Duck have their own figurines for Disney Infinity. The next obvious choice is Goofy. It does not really matter which version of Goofy Disney Interactive chooses. All that matters is that Goofy joins his place as one of the classic Disney icons, with his own figurine for the game.
2. Goliath (Gargoyles)
The glory days of the Disney Afternoon block are a distant memory. However, the impact of characters like Goliath and the amazing animated series, Gargoyles, remains. If Disney ever does one character from Garygoyles for Disney Infinity, that character has to be Goliath. Fans would go crazy over a Golaith figurine for Disney Infinity, and that is a fact.
1. Darkwing Duck (Darkwing Duck)
This is really it for me. If I had one single choice out of any character to appear in the game, it would be Darkwing Duck. Darkwing Duck is still a favorite show of mine. Basically, it was Ducktales meets a vigilante superhero show. I love the Darkwing character, and I am happy to see his comic series will soon make a return. It felt like a horrendous taunt when Disney Interactive released power discs from Darkwing Duck for the Ratcatcher and the gas gun. The only rectification would be a Darkwing Duck figurine for Disney Infinity.
