Boy o’ boy…

2014 is going to be very, very “movie intense” year.

We’ve checked around 80 movies that will come out this year and we’ve ended up showing you a list of 10 with the highest potential for success.

Are you excited?

Oh yeah! We’ve got some trailers for you here, so you can check them out right away.

Mark your calendar for the ones that you would love to watch.

Ok, lets go:

“Godzilla” (May 16)

Directed by Gareth Edwards.

Starring: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Sally Hawkins, Richard T. Jones, Bryan Cranston

In other words, this movie is promising because you’ve got a couple of Academy Award nominees, the best French actress of her generation, and the man behind the best television character of all time.

Here is the official pitch from Godzilla’s offical page: “An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.”

“Neighbors” (May 9)

Directed by Nicholas Stoller.

Starring: Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Dave Franco.

Looks like this is going to be one hilarious comedy where Seth Rogen faces boisterous frat boy Zac Efron.

Seth is pictured as a regular man who have the bad luck to live next to a fraternity house. He and his family will face many unpleasant confrontations that will drive them crazy. Apparently, “Neighbors” was previously titled Townies.

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” (May 23)

Directed by Bryan Singer

Starring: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Peter Dinklage, Hugh Jackman.

Fan of MARVEL movies?

Well, this one will be based on the comic: “The Uncanny X-Men” – which featured a storyline with that title.

Ok, the basic idea here is that the X-Men must travel back in time to change the course of history in order to prevent a major devastation. Hugh Jackman will be back, together with Jennifer Lawrence. Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones has also been signed up to appear in the X-Men franchise.

“Maleficent” (May 30)

Directed by Robert Stromberg.

Starring: Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Brenton Thwaites , Sharlto Copley, Juno Temple.

You remember the story about the “Sleeping Beauty”?

Well, wicked fairy Angelina Jolie rewrites the beloved fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty, this time told from the neglected perspective of wicked fairy Maleficent – played by mommy Angelina.

Another interesting fact is that, 3 children of the Jolie-Pitt family will appear in the movie!

Four-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt will be child version of Princess Aurora, whereas siblings Pax (8) and Zahara (7) play non-speaking roles.

“22 Jump Street” (June 13)

Directed by Phil Lord & Chris Miller.

Starring: Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Wyatt Russell, Ice Cube, Amber Stevens.

This time, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill return to Jump Street!

22 Jump Street, to be precise 🙂

As you can see in the trailer…

Dangerous assignment, foul language, drug abuse and senseless violence will be all over the place. I personally did not liked the first part, but this one should be fun!

“How To Train Your Dragon 2” (June 13)

Directed by Dean Deblois.

Starring: Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Kristen Wiig, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson.

Have you seen the first part?

How to Train Your Dragon 2 is the second movie in a trilogy, which depicts the misadventures of Hiccup and Toothless.

This time we will see hundreds of unknown wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider.

“Transformers: Age of Extinction” (June 27)

Directed by the one and only Michael Bay.

Starring Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, T.J. Miller

Four years after the attack in Chicago, Transformers and Decepticons continue their battle for supremacy on Planet Earth.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Producer) described “Transformers: Age of Extinction” as having an all-new storyline, while continuing the existing premise of the franchise.

“Lucy” (Aug. 8)

Directed by Luc Besson

Starring: Scarlett Johansson, Morgan Freeman, Min-sik Choi, Analeigh Tipton, Mason Lee

You’ve never seen Scarlett Johansson in a role where she literally kicks ass wherever she goes.

The movie is about a drug mule Lucy (Scarlett Johansson), who gets a set of deadly skills as a result of a mistake.

Morgan Freeman is in the role of a professor, which have to be found from Lucy – before she dies.

“Hercules” (July 25)

Directed by Brett Ratner.

Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Ian McShane, John Hurt, Joseph Fiennes, Rufus Sewell

Dwayne Johnson as Hercules? Can it get any better?

Briefly, Hercules leads a team of mercenaries to train the Thracian army in order to defeat an evil warlord.

The movie is based on the novel “Hercules: The Thracian Wars” – written by Steve Moore and Admira Wijaya.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” (Aug. 1)

Directed by James Gunn.

Starring: Chris Pratt, Lee Pace, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Dave Bautista

This can be a funny movie, but some of us here @ Explosion are sceptical…

Anyway, Avengers watch out. The Guardians are coming. 🙂

The story is about 5 new and kinda funny super heroes. Check the trailer and tell us what you think.

Now, its your turn!
