Alleged Persona 1 Remake Trailer Leaks, Echoing Reload

Marcus WebbBy Marcus Webb·

Recently, footage of a supposed Persona 1 remake leaked online. This clip showcases the 1996 Atlus RPG reimagined with visuals that resemble recent entries in the series. Game Rant reported that the graphics align with the style of modern Persona games. Keep in mind, Atlus hasn’t officially announced the project, and the video hasn’t been verified yet.

This leak follows a pattern we’ve seen before. TheGamer pointed out that, similar to Persona 3 Reload, this remake seems to have emerged from a low-quality trailer. While that gives the footage some weight, it still doesn’t confirm anything.

The main takeaway from the coverage is that the visuals look almost too good to be real. DualShockers echoed this sentiment with their comparison to the Persona 3 Reload leak. Since low-resolution clips are tough to authenticate, just the polish of the footage isn’t enough to convince. Fan-made concepts and edited videos can easily appear genuine, even at a low quality.

The original Persona launched on September 20, 1996, and it boasts a Metacritic score of 78. As the oldest installment in a series that Atlus develops and publishes, a remake would align this early chapter with the modern games, which is what the leaked footage seems to suggest.

None of the three outlets have reported an official statement from Atlus. Until the publisher either confirms or denies the footage, we should treat it as an unverified leak.

Community Pulse

Explosion.com hasn’t gathered any community sentiment signals for this story yet, and there are no Steam reviews for a game that’s still unannounced. Overall sentiment appears mixed, but with no data points, that label doesn’t mean much. We’ll share reader and player reactions once we have some verifiable discussions.

What To Watch

  • An Atlus statement: An announcement or denial would clarify the authenticity of the footage.
  • Higher-quality footage: Following the Persona 3 Reload leak, an official reveal could provide the clearest confirmation.
  • Platform and release details: Right now, we know nothing about platforms, pricing, or release timing. Those details would indicate how seriously Atlus is pursuing the project.
