Apex Legends Unveils Conduit as New Legend, Kotaworld Reports

Alex MercerBy Alex Mercer·

Apex Legends has introduced a new character named Conduit, as reported by Kotaworld in their article titled “Apex Legends: Scintilla unveils the new legend, Conduit.” This announcement comes as the Respawn Entertainment shooter enjoys 65,845 concurrent players on Steam.

The information available so far is limited. Both Kotaworld listings only include the headline, leaving out details on abilities, release dates, or season content. Explosion.com won’t speculate on Conduit’s skills or launch timeline until Respawn or EA provides more information.

This reveal happens during a busy month for the game. On October 16, Apex Legends kicked off the Blood Pact event, introducing beast-demon wildcards to Kings Canyon. Just two days later, Respawn started testing longer matchmaking searches in the US-West region.

This matchmaking test is important. A new legend usually brings back inactive players, and longer search times aim to improve how matches are created. If Conduit attracts more players, we’ll see how well the system performs based on the US-West results.

Apex Legends debuted on February 4, 2019, and has maintained a strong reputation. It currently has a Metacritic score of 80 and 76% positive reviews on Steam from 452,295 submissions. Publisher Electronic Arts has supported it as a live-service title for over seven years.

Community Pulse

The mood isn’t great. Across 10 tracked signals, the overall community sentiment appears mostly negative. The recent Steam reviews reflect this, with one user commenting, “hello kitty island adventure is better :<“. While that’s a joke, it highlights the lack of goodwill among some players right now.

What To Watch

  • Official details from Respawn and EA: We’re still waiting for confirmation on Conduit’s abilities, release date, and any seasonal connections.
  • Concurrent player counts: The game currently has 65,845 players on Steam. A lasting increase after the launch could indicate whether a new legend can still attract players.
  • US-West matchmaking results: The ongoing longer-search test might influence how Respawn addresses any surge in returning players.
