Every day, the music industry sees the birth of a new rapper expressing their deepest emotions through their compositions. Meet Jeffrey Almanzar. Known by his stage name ‘TK Bands’, this 24-year old musician is the new sensation in the world of rap. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Jeffrey had a tough childhood. Owing to difficult times on the home front, Jeffrey had to drop out of high school at the age of 16. He then took up odd jobs to sustain himself and his mother. He worked as a street vendor, followed by a cleaning job at a pizzeria in Staten Island. But he soon realized that the typical 9-5 schedule was not meant for him and he needed a different avenue in life. That was when Jeffrey found his calling in music.
It started with penning down his frustrations of a tough life and expressing his anger towards the world. He would pour his heart and soul out into pages after pages, which then turned into poetry, and eventually into songs. He then took the first step of sharing his thoughts with the world and recorded his first song. With a positive response from his friends, Jeffrey found the motivation to create more music and pursue this path of life seriously. In a short time, TK Bands became a popular name among rap music lovers and the rapping fraternity.
Popular rapper Ghostface Killah has been a major contributor in TK Bands’ rapping career. Jeffrey has opened shows for him and gave him just the right push his music career needed. He was soon doing tours and opening shows for other musicians. After touring the country for two years, Jeffrey started doing local shows in his neighborhood in Brooklyn. Most of his music videos feature fellow artists like Don Q, Jay Critch, Uncle Murda, Shelow Shaq, Chimbala, among many others.
For Jeffrey, music is his way of telling his story to the world and become a name to reckon with. He has been recording music for five years and earned quite a reputation. The most popular song he has composed and rapped is ‘Never Heard Of’ featuring Uncle Murda. He has composed at least 20 songs which also feature other popular and emerging artists.
