Outspoken game designer Hideki Kamiya is at it again on Twitter, responding to his follower’s questions and providing brutally honest answers.
Recently, Kamiya was concerned about the lack of marketing his game, The Wonderful 101, was receiving. He expressed this on Twitter, and only a day later, Nintendo of America began a new hashtag campaign called “#WonderfulWednesday” to promote the game (though this could be coincidental).
When a fan discussed the hashtag to him, Kamiya had no knowledge of the campaign. ““Uh, what’s wonderfulwednesday thing? RT @JonGryphon: I’ve been trying to get #wonderfulwednesday trending to help promote The Wonderful 101″
It seems there is also more marketing practices in store for the game, as Kamiya has now confirmed that there will be a Nintendo Direct focused on the game. “There will be. RT @enigmaxtreme: To advertise, there should be a ‘Wonderful 101 Nintendo Direct’.”
Finally, despite him working on two huge Wii U exclusives The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2, Kamiya personally does not own a Wii U.“I’m not a WiiU owner. RT @Theo_aCloud Are you looking forward to Pikmin 3 as much as all the other Wii U owners? Going to be awesome, and th[...]“
I’m glad to see that the game will be promoted and talked about more, it’s looking fantastic. Or should I say, wonderful.
The Wonderful 101 will release exclusively on the Wii U on August 23rd, 2013 in Europe, August 24th, 2013 in Australia, and September 15th, 2013 in North America.
