Not content with only being invaded by Godzilla, Japan is now set to become overrun with zombies. Capcom is partnering with Universal Studios to turn the theme park into a Resident Evil-themed attraction at night for “Halloween Horror Night”, from September 14th until November 11th.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this partnership, as Universal Studios also brought us a huge event based on Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise.

Somehow, the concept isn’t surprising to me – maybe its because our planet has become so infected with zombie fandom that we now have a zombie apocalypse theme park already in Detroit and a zombie survival training course. What is surprising though, is how awesome this Resident Evil attraction really is.

The Terminator 2 Cyberdyne Systems building will soon become the simlarly sinister Umbrella Corporation. Advanced 3D projection mapping will turn the New York City zone into a walk through attraction of Raccoon City, complete with its own Biohazard Cafe and Grill which has themed food and props. Assuming you have an appetite after being around grotesque yet awesome infected creatures all day.

You can catch all the full-size images of the event right here.

There will be zombies and other monsters running amok, as well as actors and actresses playing characters from Resident Evil, such as Jill and Claire. Opening hours are from 18:00 until 21:00 each day.

There is also a similar event happening for US fans, with a Resident Evil theme park attraction also coming to North America. It is coming to Six Flags parks and scheduled for October 6th, for one day titled “Flags Night”. This comes after RE6‘s release on October 2nd, and attendees will have the chance to play the game at the event as well as have the opportunity to win Resident Evil 6-themed prizes.
