Board games just got EXTREEEME! Remember back when games weren’t electronic and you played them using plastic pieces, dice and a playing board? Me neither, but Capcom Unity blogger Dubindoh has unveiled “Monopoly: Street Fighter Collector’s Edition” today.

It is now available on Amazon with a retail price of $39.99. At the time of writing, only three are left in stock, and may very well be gone by the time you read this. While it will inevitably be re-stocked, with all-new and exclusive artwork also included, Capcom is making it clear that this truly is a Collector’s Edition. Any of you brawler fanatics wanting to get hold of one of these will need to keep an eye out and snap one out as quick as possible.

The game comes courtesy of USAopoly, responible for other video game-themed board games such as Monopoly: World of Warcraft Edition, Super Mario Checkers and RISK: Metal Gear Solid Edition. The six tokens that made into the final version were voted on by fans in a poll.

The tokens themselves are as follows: “Vega’s mask, Hadouken, Chun-Li’s wrist cuff, M. Bison, Ryu, and Blanka”. Properties in this version will consist of fighting arenas, with the house and hotel upgrades now being Training Rooms and Dojos.

Several of the “locations” were revealed: “Shadaloo Headquarters, Gouken’s Dojo, Thailand Temple, Spanish Restaurant, U.S. Air Force Base, U.S.S.R. Foundry, Downtown Metro City, Saikyo Dojo, and MORE…”.

Interestingly, the blog also says there’s a “60-minute speed play option” alongside the traditional Monopoly playing style. If this has already been included in previous Monopoly board games, its new to me. Sounds like a decent inclusion nonetheless, as time taken to finish a Monopoly game can be very unpredictable. But hey, who’d wanna play with Street Fighter tokens for a mere single hour?

When you consider that Monopoly has versions of every popular franchise under the sun, this product shouldn’t be too surprising in retrospect – but that doesn’t make it any less awesome. However, cautious buyers may want to hold off for the inevitable Super Monopoly Alpha: Street Fighter Turbo Arcade Champion Edition DX.
