It looks like almost all characters that have appeared in the Lightning Saga will make an appearance in the final game of the trilogy, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, releasing on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 early next year.
According to the latest issue of Famitsu, two central Final Fantasy XIII-2 characters will be appearing in the new game. We are talking about Gaius and Paddra Nsu-Yeul. Caius had already been confirmed some time ago but this the first time we actually get some in-game confirmation.
Caius Ballad is the main antagonist of Final Fantasy XIII-2. His fate at the end of the game has been quite uncertain and the team behind Lightning Returns will shed some light on his fate in the new game.
Paddra-Nsu Yeul is Caius’ traveling companion and a seeress hailing from the city-state of Paddra. The girl was strictly connected not only to Caius but also to the many paradoxes found in Final Fantasy XIII-2 and had a central role in the game.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be released in North America on February 11th and in Europe on February 14th on Ps3 and Xbox 360. Japanese gamers will be able to enjoy the game this December.
