Crytek has been making a lot of comments regarding the next generation consoles, when Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli spoke with the Official Xbox Magazine, he continued to cause a lot of stir.  He stated that with the expected price of the console, it might be the last we’ll ever get from at least one company.  You can take what he said, and you can agree or disagree, but he does make a good point about the rising cost of systems.  You can check out the quote below.

“It would be prohibitively expensive to launch a next-gen console beyond what we say is next gen. It would potentially be a death knell for at least one company.  If you take in the cost of making a console, the parts of it, and say, ‘okay, that has to be better than the best PC experience at that time plus two years later’. And you want a package – a $200, $300, $400 package. It’s just physically and financially impossible to go higher, so you have to bring it down again, and our guesstimates have been quite right.”  Hopefully his statements doesn’t come to fruition, it seems like there will always be a market for video game consoles.
