The Diablo III announcement during last week’s Playstation Meeting was mostly unexpected: while there have been rumors regarding possible console versions of the Blizzard game, nothing had been confirmed and it looked like Blizzard never actually wanted to bring the game to Ps3 and Xbox 360.
Diablo III will finally hit both Ps3 and Ps4 during this 2013 and the first details on the port are emerging, thanks to a post on the Blizzard’s Official Forums: the new details are all about the multiplayer mode and the possible controls options.
The first news is not too good and it’s bound to disappoint some: the Ps3/Ps4 versions of the game will not support cross play with the Pc version, meaning that the fanbase will be fragmented and unable to play all together. This is truly a shame, given how active is the Pc Diablo III community and how much it would have helped on release, when there’s a chance of slow online play.
The second news is all about the possible control methods and this one is not too good either: Blizzard has dismissed some rumors which stated that there would be mouse+keyboard support for the Ps3/Ps4 versions of the game as well as a possible gamepad support getting implemented with a patch on the Pc version.
Some other questions have been left unaswered, like the inclusion of the Real Money Action House in the console versions of the game: stay tuned to get all the updates on the matter.
