Dead Space 3 fans are likely aware of the recent infinite item-spawning glitch that has been making the rounds on the web lately, allowing players to farm unlimited resources.
Apparently, according to EA this isn’t a “glitch” at all. In fact, EA PR spokesman Jino Talens told GameFront that “we have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game”.
He goes on to say that players are encouraged to explore the game to find these respawn areas, and that this feature was “deliberately designed” to be used this way.
It’s hard to say whether or not this in fact was intentional, especially in the light of the controversial microtransactions within the game (wherein players can accumulate upgrades instantly by paying real money). This would surely contradict EA’s business model, if players can gain resources themselves without paying. Then again, perhaps there are players who would rather pay than dedicate time to repetitive tasks in order to gain resources.
Either way, with EA taking credit for the exploit/feature, it looks it’s not going anywhere and not being patched.
