Trine 2, developed by Frostbyte, is quite an unique game: a 2D platform game with a big emphasis on puzzles, where players control three different characters with different abilities which must be used to clear all the puzzles included into each one of the beautiful stages of the game; the cooperative multiplayer mode adds more depth to the game too. The game received a director’s cut version not too long ago, getting released on the Wii U eShop as well.

Despite an almost perfect port, some things were amiss from Trine 2 Director’s Cut, with the graphics being a little washed up, as well as missing some features like pro controller support and a few other things. Today, the game got finally updated, at least in North America, and it has received a number of new features: the Wii U Pro Controller is finally supported, voice chat has been introduced for online multiplayer, with the use of an headset or even just the Gamepad’s microphone. Graphics have been improved as well together with some minor fixes and the introduction of German voiceovers.

The update should now be available for all versions of the game: it will be automatically downloaded as soon as you boot the game on your Wii U.
