Activision has just announced Black Ops 2 a mere days ago and online retailer Amazon is already reporting that pre-orders for the game have already surpassed those of former king Modern Warfare 3!

While Modern Warfare 3 set the pre-order record for games last year, it has already been beaten by Treyarch’s upcoming Black Ops 2. Mind you, it’s not chump change, either; as Black Ops 2’s pre-orders are 30 percent higher than those of Modern Warfare 3!

For reference, Black Ops 2’s pre-orders are TEN times that of its predecessor – Black Ops 1. Now, that’s a lot of Call of Duty fans, no?

Modern Warfare 3, for those uninformed, is among the top 20 pre-ordered item on Amazon – and this includes books, movies, etc.

Now, bear in mind that this report is for Amazon alone, though it wouldn’t surprise me to hear of similar reports across other outlets.

So, does this prove Call of Duty is “un-killable?” Is the franchise destined to eclipse every other game in existence until fans tire of it? Let us know what you think.
