Keiji Inafune is definitely one of the most important developers in the gaming industry, having fathered the Megaman series and directed countless other Capcom’s projects like Onimusha and Dead Rising series, to just name a few. Sometime last year Inafune san left Capcom after having to cancel his last Capcom project, Megaman Legends 3, being developed on 3DS.

Since then Inafune san has become an independent developer and a couple of his new projects will see the light during 2013: the PsVita Action RPG Soul Sacrifice and a more light-hearted title called Kaio: king Of PiratesK

Kaio: King Of Pirates stars four main characters called Eag, Chobi, Wukan and Peguin, four anthropomorphic penguins on a quest to find the Lucifer Coin, a coin said to be able to control the ocean, allowing anyone to become the King Of Pirates. The game will feature a ligh hearted tone but the gameplay formula will probably be pretty engaging: a recent V-Jump scan shows how the game will have both battles on land and naval warfare. The game will also have some light RPG elements and each playable character will have different abilities, which can be improved over the course of the game.

The game is currently being developed on Nintendo 3DS and it’ll be published by Marvelous Entertainment. No release date is currently available for Kaio: King Of Pirates.
