<p>In an open letter to fans, CD Projekt Red announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been delayed. The game will no longer be released in February 2015. Instead, the game release has been pushed back several months to May. According to CD Projekt Red&#8217;s letter, the game had issues that need to be corrected. Rather than rush out a broken game filled with bugs and a boatload of problems that require a day one patch, CD Projekt Red took the honorable move. The team admitted the game is not ready and announced a delay. The move is a refreshing one, and other gaming developers should take note. Keep in mind that even CD Projekt Red must answer to corporate publishers.</p>

<p>Does the delay hurt the momentum of the game? Possibly, yet. However, a massively flawed and broken game would hurt the standing of The Witcher franchise even more. The Witcher 3 is the third and final installment of The Witcher video game franchise. To end it on a bad note would leave a bad taste in the mouths of fans. CD Projekt Red is aware of that and does not want it to happen. Games like Assassin&#8217;s Creed Unity and WWE 2K15 only received minor delays before release. The delays were not enough to truly fix the games and deliver the exceptional next-gen experience and product that fans were promised. Fans and players might be impatient, but a polished and amazing game experience would more than make up for that.</p>
<p>The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt looks like it could be one of the most epic and immersive role-playing game experiences ever. For that to happen, CD Projekt Red should take all the time it needs to polish the game. Since CD Projekt Red is taking the extra time, I hope that means the game will be a supremely polished and amazing experience that does not require a ridiculous number of patches and updates.</p>
<p>However, since this is the second major delay of the game, that means there will be no excuses if the game does have problems at launch. The game was originally scheduled for a 2014 release. That became February 2015, and later became May 2015. Three months is not a minor delay. That should be plenty of time to give the game the extra polish it needs. I have faith CD Projekt Red will deliver an amazing experience.</p>
