<p>It is hard not get excited about SEGA&#8217;s recent announcement for Alien: Isolation. However, my expectations for the game are still cautiously optimistic. The game will feature two downloadable bonus missions adapting sequences from the original, classic 1979 film Alien. What is the best thing about the bonus missions, though? The cast members of the original film will return to provide the voices and likenesses of their characters, including: Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley; Tom Skerritt as Dallas; Veronica Cartwright as Lambert; Harry Dean Stanton as Brett; and Yaphet Kotto as Parker. Ian Holm&#8217;s Ash will also appear in the downloadable mission; but unfortunately, he was unable to provide his voice.</p>

<p>Weaver&#8217;s participation in the game was a little surprising. Some years back, she turned down the opportunity to reprise her role as Dana Barrett in the Ghostbusters video game. Perhaps the report of her <a title="Sigourney Weaver turned down" href="http://www.gamereactor.eu/news/957/Sigourney+Weaver+turned+down/" target="_blank">changing her mind about the aforementioned</a> game during its production was accurate, and Weaver learned not to turn down another experience like this again. Weaver likely still has a fondness for Ripley. The role really made and defined her career. She created an iconic character who later became one of the best onscreen female action heroines of all time. Not to mention she constantly returned to the role, even in the lesser Alien franchise sequels. Weaver&#8217;s presence in these bonus missions is a tremendous coup for SEGA and developer Creative Assembly.</p>
<p>Based on the press release by SEGA, the developers at Creative Assembly personally worked with the cast for the new game. So hopefully, there is new original dialogue, and it is not 100 percent recycled from the film.</p>
<p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="color: #444444;">So far, the videos and news that has emerged for Alien: Isolation have been promising. However, the existence of the last major game release based on the Alien franchise with Aliens: Colonial Marines has definitely tempered my expectations. Star Trek: The Video Game is another example of a movie-based game title that looked promising, only to cause great disappointment. That said, Creative Assembly appears to be on the right track with Alien: Isolation. The inclusion of bonus missions where you can explore the Nostromo ship from the classic film and deal with the original xenomorph creature is an exciting concept. Not to mention, the Nostromo Edition is free pre-order bonus content.</p>

<p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="color: #444444;">What I like about the faithful re-creation of the film to the game is the lack of weapons and resources. In the original Alien, the crew members of the Nostromo were members of a commercial towing vessel, not experienced soldiers or seasoned military experts. There were no BFGs or rocket launchers. Alien: Isolation looks like a throwback to the tone of the original film, and the new Nostromo Edition missions appear faithful to that element.</p>
<p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="color: #444444;">Alien: Isolation hits the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC on October 7.</p>

This is why the game gives me hype …. as more content you’ll get, the playthrough will get longer and getting more enjoyable …. 🙂 can’t wait to earned the game on PS4
